John Harris - Maybe I'm Amazed

Ian Leak has been sitting down with journalist, writer, critic, presenter and Frome resident, John Harris, to chat about John’s new book Maybe I'm Amazed. The book is a revealing, loving, and moving memoir. It shares the story of how music has opened up the world to John’s autistic son, James, one song at a time. It also takes us through the struggles of raising an autistic child in a prejudiced world, and uncovers a hidden history of neurodivergence and creativity that casts new light on why notes, chords, and lyrics speak so powerfully to the human mind.

In this conversation, John shares more insight into what it was like getting a diagnosis for James and the challenges that followed. As a dad who is also going through the autism journey with his own son, Ian understands those challenges only too well.
