Shepton Mallet Prison has been sold! It's been bought by Cove Group after a ten year persual by CEO, Joel Campbell. Joel was determined to own this slice of Somerset history, to protect what is believed to be the world's oldest prison, and to further develop it as a heritage attraction for the town and the county.
Jenna's been catching up with Joel to find out more about his inspiration and motivation to acquire the prison. They also chat about future plans, including a public consulation, and whther it's a little bit surreal to own a heritage building such as this.
